Carriers Martinair and Tampa Cargo announced that as of the beginning of January 2007 they had advanced their joint cooperation in the Americas.

This cooperation is the result of joint efforts by both companies in finding synergies, which lend themselves to providing better quality and more efficient service, while still providing the value added services our customers have come to expect.

Among the changes involved in this process, was the opening of joint offices in the following Latin American cities: Lima, Santiago Chile, Bogotá, and San Juan Puerto Rico. These offices permitted the carriers to assume direct control of the operations and commercial services currently being offered, by utilizing the same business model successfully developed in Quito over the last three years.

In the same manner, both carriers decided to consolidate their ramp and handling operations at Miami International Airport into Tampa Cargo’s warehouse facilities, from which they have been operating for many years. This initiative has the dual objective of increasing each carrier’s competitiveness as well as improving customer service.

Within this new organizational structure, Maurice Thorin, formerly manager of the Bogotá station for Tampa Cargo has now been appointed Regional Director – Andean with its base located in Bogotá. Maurice is responsible for all operations in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Puerto Rico for both companies. In addition, Arturo Brownell was appointed Regional Director – Southern Cone based in Buenos Aires. Arturo is responsible for all operations in Argentina, Chile and Brazil for both companies.

These changes re-enforce Martinair and Tampa Cargo’s commitment to actualizing both companies consolidated strategy for the Americas.
